Charlie: posters

Hot Fuzz (2007)

  •  The posters composition is symmetrical.
  • Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's names are above the title. Implying that theor names are selling the movie. They're also more commonly associated with comedies.
  • So the low key lighting on the background, the explosion and the aggressive body language (which is most likely a parody of this).
  • The film "Shaun of the Dead" is mentioned. This is also a parody film so it reveals the genre to the viewer.
  • The model village plays a pivotal role in the Film.
  • Bunting is placed around the top edges as a humourous references to the less than parallel to the plot.

Fish Tank (2009)

  • Main character shown.
  • She's dancing which is a key part of the film as this is what she aspires to be.
  • Setting is what appears to be a block of flats. The main setting for the film.
  • Title stands out as all other is white colour and the title is black.
  • Katie Jarvis' name is barely visible. They are not selling it on a famous actresses name.
  • All writing begins on a line perpendicular with windows edge.
  • Reflection shows environment.

This is my idea for the poster the two characters will be out of focus and frame the main character.

    1. Your analysis needs to address each of the 4 media concepts - this is what you will have to do both in your final evaluation and your exam.
