* We have recorded a non-diegetic monologue from our actor (Aidan) to run over the top of our film and in between back stories of the characters he meets.
* We have added all the non-diegetic soundtrack to our film. We have used 3 out of the 4 tracks that I posted up earlier (shown below)
Short Film Soundtrack by NO PROBLEMS
* The soundtrack fits well and we have used it to depict the thoughtful and poinient mood in the applicable places in our film for best impact.
* Chloe has also posted a draft example of our film poster (as seen in the previous post) which we all agree and look forward to creating using Photoshop.
* We are in the last stages of arranging our footage. Today we have been re-arranging the last back story; the office worker/superhero back story. We have been shortening it and re-arranging the order of shots so that the story gives as much impact as possible like the other back stories.
* As a group we have had to make collective decisions.
For Example:
BULLIED TEEN DILEMMA!
- When editing the scenes of the bullied teen it did not seem at first obvious that he was being bullied. In the short amount of time that he was on screen it was important that he was easily displayed to be a victim of both cyber and verbal bullying.
- Therefore we decided to have a shot of the bullied teens abusive text message in the background of all the shots of the character walking through the park. In Final CutPro we turned the opacity down the image of the text message so that it was like a faint memory or ghost in the back of the images.
- This managed to give the effect of the texts almost haunting him following him wherever he goes, unable to escape them!
- We also took some willingly volunteers with us to record some abusive voices for the bullying scenes too. We recorded two minutes worth of abusive language and insults. We then layered them in Garageband and placed them over the footage of our male bullied victim character walking alongside the ghostly text message image
- Together these two effects managed to give a haunting effect that made the appearance of our male character being bullied much more apparent than it had done previous.
- It also really created an atmosphere that would cause much sympathy from the audience to our bullied character which was the desired effect we wanted for his character.
