Film Review Research: Layout

From reading one of the latest LWL reviews of the film: "A Monster in Paris"

The review displays a good example of a stereotypical LWL review...

In Red is the establishing paragraph. It establishes the makers, 'Bibo Bergereon, the tem that brought us Shark Tale' also mentioning 'Pixar'. This paragraph is used to establish the companies that film fans would be familiar with who were involved in this film

In Blue is a larger paragraph describing an outline of the films plot. This enables the reader to have an insight into the film without giving too much information away. 'Set in Paris during the Seine flood of 1910 we follow the wacky wannabe inventor Raoul, a man with a van in a shaggy coat' It establishes the time period and the characteristics of the main figures in the film.

In Green there is a constructional criticisms paragraph. It offers that with extra funding and longer screen time the film may have been given extra room to breathe working in-depth on other characters

In Orange there is a final conclusional paragraph summing up the films traits with positive describing words: 'fun', 'catchy' also stating the film does 'justice'

LWL reviews often follow this structure and offer a consise yet in-depth review of the film using film themes and langauge; techniques that we will include in our review.
